The Friends of Beaumaris Band was set up in 1990 to help raise funds for the band and provide assistance at events run by the Band or run by the Friends themselves.
We hope to continue to grow and support the band as they bring on new players through the band structure, developing confidence and ability.
Seindorf Beaumaris Band, like most brass bands, does far, far more than just enjoy themselves playing music! It brings direct and indirect benefits to Beaumaris and the wider community as well as individuals young and old who get involved.
Apart from the opportunity for local people and visitors to enjoy the music, Seindorf Beaumaris Band contributes to Beaumaris by raising the profile of the town and helping to enhance events to which the band contributes. It adds to the social fabric of the town and even the island by bringing people together in the 5 bands.
Seindorf Beaumaris Band also fulfils an important role in the education and development of social skills of the young people who take part, however briefly. And of course a great many people over the years have developed considerable music ability as they move through the Bands structure to reach the Youth or Senior Bands, a significant number going on to make a career in music as a result.
Seindorf Beaumaris Band also has an important social role for many more mature players, both experienced and learners, who get so much pleasure playing with the LSW – ‘Last of the Summer Wind’.
